With the nostalgic lens of the Diana F+, expired film stock, and cross-processing techniques, cityscapes turn into fragments of dreams —images we half-remember but cannot quite place. These frames, uniting chaos and irony, become an album of a city completed by its flaws. Lines slip, colors bleed —just like Istanbul itself, rewriting its history by deforming it.

These photographs echo the unchanging themes of the modern metropolis: loneliness, discontent, longing for the past, and the continuous loss of nature. Silence grows louder in the heart of crowds; familiar streets feel estranged; the scent of the sea is replaced by concrete dust. Here, only the ghost of the hope that Baudelaire once sought in the modern city seems to wander. For every tower and shopping mall that rises upward, there is a collapse downward —in spirit, in human values, in our culture of coexistence.

“Transforming City” is a record of the city as a living being: fierce, restless, and often harsh.
