Jasmine was created for someone who loved her, after she was no longer physically here.
And it made me return to a question that exists throughout this series:
Are we only what can be perceived?
A body may disappear from a room, from a photograph yet to be taken, from the physical world we know — but a person does not necessarily disappear from the lives they have touched.
Something remains.
A memory.
A gesture.
A feeling.
A particular kind of presence.
Perhaps every life has a duration in this world. But perhaps existence itself is larger than the single form through which we experience it.
Maybe somewhere beyond what we can perceive, other versions of us continue through other possibilities, other realities, other forms of being.
I cannot know what comes after this life.
But Jasmine was never about answering that question.
It was about the possibility that an absence can still contain a presence.
On the reflective metal, the world around her keeps changing. Light passes over her. People appear in the surface and disappear again.
Jasmine remains.
Perhaps immortality is not about staying forever.
Perhaps it is about the part of us that continues to resonate after we are gone.
