About the Book: In The Seer, the viewer does not merely look; they bear witness. Using a large-format analog camera with surgical precision, Kızıltunç reanimates X-ray images—once clinical records—alongside portraits. This work challenges the “clinical gaze” described by Michel Foucault, reclaiming the body from being a mere object of data and transforming it into a subjective narrative. Rooted in the artist’s personal history as the child of a radiologist, the project explores the collision between technique, aesthetics, and memory.
